Structure and Scoring
Listening and Reading Test (TOEIC L&R) is a paper-and-pencil, multiple-choice assessment with two timed sections of 100 questions each.
1. Listening
Format: 100 questions
Topic: Part 1: Photographs, Part 2: Question-Response, Part 3: Conversations, Part 4: Short Talks
Time: 45 minutes
Score: 5-495
2. Reading
Format: 100 questions
Topic: Part 5: Incomplete Sentences, Part 6: Error Recognition or Text Completion, Part 7: Reading Comprehension
Time: 75 minutes
Score: 5-495
Overall score of TOEIC L&R: 10-990
Speaking and Writing Test (TOEIC S&W) assesses language skills used in daily life and the workplace. Test takers speak and write in English and give their responses to real-world questions and scenarios. The tests use common everyday vocabulary, phrases and key expressions.
1. Speaking
Format: 11 questions
Topic: Read a text aloud, Describe a picture, Respond to questions, Propose a solution, Express an opinion
Time: 20 minutes
Score: 0-200
2. Writing
Format: 8 questions
Topic: Write a sentence based on a picture, Respond to a written request, Write an opinion essay
Time: 60 minutes
Score: 0-200
Overall score of TOEIC S&W: 0-400
Testing time for the whole test is around 2 hours 30 minutes.
