This is a recording of the webinar hosted by PrepAdviser on March 13, 2019 with InnoEnergy. The speakers included Marloes Wichink Kruit, Human Capital Manager, InnoEnergy; Nathan Ott, Chief Polisher, The GC Index Impact; and Marvin Killer, EMEA Sales Engineer at Tesla. The webinar focused on how the school helps prepare graduates to excel professionally and find a position that’s right for them.

InnoEnergy Master’s School makes a strong effort to deliver professional success for all its students. Graduates of the school have landed jobs working for ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Bosch and Philips, amongst other well-known companies. Some graduates also choose to work for InnoEnergy’s own startups. InnoEnergy supports around 167 startups. Among the startups in its network are Abora, Aerspire, Beedata and Betterspace. Marloes adds:

We teach students not to wait until they finish their studies to find a position. Our vision is that once you enter the Master’s School or PHD School, your career starts immediately. This is not like doing a 2-year master’s program and thinking what’s next.

Apart from actively reviewing the school’s job board for internships, jobs and thesis projects, students can reach out to the career center for additional guidance. Working as a part of InnoEnergy’s career center, Marloes helps support students in their careers through offering career webinars, CV checks, and interview training. In addition, the annual career event is the series of Game Changing Impact Challenges in which students collaborate and network for three days with professionals from the energy industry. There are also mentors who get together with students to solve various industry challenges.

After talking to energy industry experts and finding out what they are seeking from the ideal job candidate, the school created the InnoEnergy Game-Changing Impact program. Its fundamental foundation principle stems from the GC Index’s concept of the different “play makers that orchestrate the future.” They include The Strategist who maps the future, The Implementer who builds the future, The Polisher who creates a future to be proud of, and the Game Changer who transforms the future. All of these roles work together to make a strong and positive impact.

Every student of the program will take the GC Index and Impact Awareness Tests to understand how they will make a maximum impact and the type of help they will need to develop professionally. This data is then stored in a digital profile that can be accessed any time. Afterwards, students enter the GCIP for an hour-long career consultation after which they are assigned their own personal coach. The student is given a timetable and the program begins with eight 30-minute one-on-one sessions and six 60-minute coaching webinars. Following the sessions, the student takes the Impact Evaluation Tests, attends a Program Achievement Interview and upon success, is issued an Impact Passport. You are encouraged to present this document to employers as it contains information about all your valuable development and skills, and will surely set you apart from other applicants.

If you are curious about InnoEnergy’s Master’s School application process, you will need a completed bachelor’s degree, English proficiency and further documents that you can view on the school’s website.
