All required credentials should be provided electronically through the application. Paper documents mailed to our office will be discarded.

The minimum TOEFL score for science and engineering applicants whose native language is not English is 84, ideally with no subscore below 20. The minimum total IELTS score is 7.0 with no band score below 6.5. The minimum Duolingo score is 115. WPI Business School application requirements are below.

If applicants have two continuous years of full-time, university-level study completed within the last five years, in a country where the official language is English, he or she can request an English proficiency waiver. Students who have studied at a school where the language of instruction is English, but the official language of the country is not English do not qualify for a waiver (e.g., study at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, does not qualify a student for the English proficiency waiver).

There are no minimum GRE scores, but the average for admitted students is typically 150 verbal, 165 quantitative, and 3.0 analytical.

WPI only accepts official test scores from the GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, or Duolingo. Please contact the ETS and have your scores released to us if they are required. Our institution code is 3969, and all departments use the same code.

WPI Business School:

For all WPI Business School graduate programs the minimum score for the TOEFL exam is 90, the IELTS minimum score is 7, and the Duolingo minimum score is 115. For WPI Business School PhD applicants, a TOEFL minimum score of 100 (internet based) or an IELTS band score of 7.5 is required. The Duolingo scores are not accepted for the PhD program.

The GMAT/GRE is optional for all WPI Business School programs.
