Diploma thesis-related recommendation

The school I have chosen requires me to submit two recommendations. I have chosen one of my professors to write one of them, but I am wondering if it would make sense for the other recommendation to be related to the diploma thesis, on which I worked during my last year of studies.

Usually recommendations should be from people who know you best in your academic environment. The professor who supervised your work on your diploma thesis sounds like an excellent option, unless the school where you will be applying has any other specific requirements. It will also depend on whether you diploma thesis is related to the field of study for which you are now applying.
