Professor Antonio Vaccaro, who is a teacher on the course, says:
"Companies are realizing that a positive social impact has to go beyond corporate social responsibility…They’re also discovering that a social focus makes them more competitive."
The amount of business schools, which have research centers to explore the interplay between social enterprise and competitiveness in business, is significantly increasing. For example, Oxford’s Said Business School offers three MBA courses for the ones interested in social entrepreneurship, including “Social Finance”, “Social Enterprise Design”. In 1993, Harvard Business School, has launched its Social Enterprise Initiative. Today, the school offers a wide range of MBA courses, which focus on social enterprises.
