Hello Iliana,

I was wondering if you can help me with this question. Is there a min GPA in order to apply for Masters?

Thanks in advance

Hello Critical,

Many Master's programmes will have a min GPA requirement for their applicants. Masters admissions committess will need an evidence that you are successful in an academic setting. That is why they will also require that your recommendations are academic, unlike in the case with an MBA when recommendations should be professional. But, please check with each of your tagted school what their GPA requirements are.

I hope this helps.

Hi, my Bachelor's GPA is not impressive, even a bit low. How will this affect my application for Masters in International Management? I have a BBA.
Thx.
Bert

Hello Bert,

Your GPA is a fact which you cannot change. You can try to leverage with a high score on the admission tests, strong recommendations and personal statement. The reason of why your GPA is not as good as it could have been is also important, as well as during which year of your studies and what courses caused the lower score. There are many factors to consider. Feel free to provide more details, so that we can discuss further.

I hope this helps.

Hi
last year I had an invitation letter from Harvard business school doctoral program based on my GRE Quantitative score.(167/170). But based on my GPA was very low I didn't try for admission. Now my GPA in master of mechanical engineering is 4/4.3 but because of my undergraduate GPA, I still think my chance of being approve in Harvard is not so much. What is your idea? Do you have any idea or suggestion that improve my acceptance chance?

With Thanks,
Mahdi

Hello,

I would encourage you to apply. Undergraduate GPA is already compensated for with a high GRE score and your Master's GPA.

However, the evaluation will depend on other factors such as your intended PhD field of study, your score on the other GRE sections, the subjects on which you have low scores during your undergraduate studies, the overall rank of your undergraduate university.

It is also very important whether the doctoral programme is a good fit for your profile and goals.

I would like to recommend that you get in touch with the Admissions Office or Programme Director of your intended programme for further details.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Best regards,
