You have been accepted to the schools you have applied to? Congratulations! But what next? How will you choose where to enrol?

In this video, Soojin Kwon, director of admissions at the Ross School of Business, gives a few pointers for how to shift your thinking now that you’ve heard about your MBA admissions’ decision.

Now that you have received the admissions’ decisions of the schools you have applied to, the next step is for you to decide where you would like to actually get your MBA degree. This is the time when you have to switch between deciding where to apply to deciding where to enrol. This process really requires a shift in your way of thinking. When deciding where to apply it’s natural to consult rankings, friends, family and mentors. But when you’re deciding where to enroll, it really has to be all about you. When the decision is as important as where to get your MBA, you need to listen to your voice and criteria – what matters to you. However, luckily for you, there are many ways for you to find the answer.

First, you would very much benefit from talking to current students. They are going to be able to tell you things about current student experiences that admissions directors can’t or shouldn’t. They are living it every day, after all, and are the only trustworthy sources of this type of information.

Next, there is no substitute for visiting the campus you have chosen and attending events for admitted students. . You could meet future classmates, experience a class, and explore the city. These are the kinds of things you need to know in order to make a decision about where to enrol.

Finally, let the school know what questions you have. They want to make sure they have all the answers for you.
