The Masters in Management is designed for recent graduates or professionals who haven’t worked in the industry or have up to two years of work experience.

Perline Li is currently finishing her Master’s in Management degree. She wants to pursue a career in dentistry in Vancouver, Canada. You may be wondering what she is doing studying for a Master’s in Business Management, when she wants to go into dentistry. With her background in science she has never been exposed to anything business-related. She believes, however, that business is everywhere in life and intrinsic to everything, irrespective of your career path – whether in the Arts, Social Sciences or just in Business itself.

Perline wants to become a dentist in Vancouver. This industry is highly competitive in Canada and for this reason she recognises that for her to practice something that she loves, she also needs to learn its business side. In order to run a dental practice successfully, she needs certain business skills that she hasn’t acquired from her undergraduate programme and would be unlikely to do so in her future dental studies. Hence Perline decided to take a one-year programme in Master’s in Management to really hone her business skills and open herself up to a healthy variety of career opportunities, even if she wants to explore other career paths in future, notably dentistry.
